Eratzi Neftali Garcia
In 2020, Eratzi was 18 years old and had recently graduated from high school the previous year. He had long held a passion for leather goods, including jackets, bags, and boots; however, due to his minimum wage employment, he found it challenging to afford the prices associated with these products. Additionally, he often struggled to find a design that resonated with his personal aesthetic and met his practical needs for daily use. In May of that year, Eratzi lost his job due to the impact of the pandemic. Faced with an abundance of time and some savings, he dedicated himself to acquiring the skills necessary for leathercraft. Ultimately, he began to create the bags he desired to wear. Following a two-year mission for the LDS Church, Eratzi launched Eratzi Neftali, a brand with the aspiration of becoming a prominent Mexican-American luxury leather goods brand.
Leathercraft is a distinguished trade and art form that has diminished alongside the rise of vinyl and plastics. As a result, sourcing durable and high-quality bags has become increasingly difficult. We are committed to reviving traditional craftsmanship and delivering exceptional leather goods to the world, ensuring that timeless quality and artistry are once again celebrated.
The Sewing Machine
The most reliable sewing machines are often either vintage models, known for their durability and craftsmanship, or contemporary designs that emulate the robust construction and simplicity of older machines. This combination of traditional engineering and modern advancements appeals to both enthusiasts and professionals seeking quality and longevity in their sewing tools.
The Leather
We exclusively utilize full-grain and top-grain leather that is vegetable-tanned, and sourced directly from Mexico. This commitment to high-quality materials ensures the durability and aesthetic appeal of our products.
The Canvas
We utilize tightly woven cotton canvas, manufactured in the United States. This high-quality material is designed to be water-resistant, ensuring durability and performance in various applications.
The Hardware
Brass and copper have been integral to human craftsmanship for thousands of years, with their use dating back to Roman times. Today, nearly all of the hardware utilized in the construction and securing of our bags is crafted from one of these two durable materials, ensuring both functionality and timeless aesthetic appeal.
